Armação de Pêra is a town in the Algarve in the municipality of Silves. It gets plenty of visitors during the summer months.
It's very popular with families with children, as the beaches are easy to reach and the shops are only a few metres away.
The town has a wide range of apartments and hotels.
And there's no shortage of restaurants and shops.
What to see in Armação de Pêra

In summer, some of the fishermen run boat trips out to the nearby caves.
There are plenty of restaurants in the village where you can tuck into food rich in seafood. And the fish couldn't be fresher, as this is one of the few places in the Algarve where the fishermen still set off from and return to the beach itself every day.
Along the main avenue, right in front of its busiest beach, you'll find shops, restaurants and bars.
The Marina de Albufeira is a 15-minute drive away, so it's easy to join the activities organised from there too.
Praia de Armação de Pêra
A beach with calm water, a good stretch of sand with rock formations at either side and accommodation blocks behind.
The sand runs all the way to the popular Praia Galé, and there are areas for everyone as well as sections where you can hire sunloungers and parasols.
As we mentioned above, the beach is on the same level as the town, so anyone can get down to it easily.

Search hotels in Armação de Pêra is one of the most popular choices among families visiting the Algarve, as the coastline here is calm and very pretty.
The town is full of resorts with apartments set aside for local accommodation.
Armação de Pêra is just 15 km from Albufeira, its livelier neighbour. It is a forty-minute drive from Faro Airport and two and a half hours from the capital, Lisbon.
